Most of the games in the Preseason Week 1 will be played on Saturday. The biggest thing to watch on Saturday will be QB Ben Roethlisberger taking snaps at Heinz Field when the Steelers host the Lions. How will the home field fans react to Big Ben after what he has gone through this off season? Plus how long will he play since he is suspended for the first four games, the other QBs will need to get reps with the first string offense as well.
Other games to watch include the return of head coach Pete Carroll to the NFL when the Seahawks host the Titans and a Favre-less Vikings team will travel to St. Louis to play the Rams. The rest of the games on Saturday are Buccaneers @ Dolphins (7:00 PM), Browns @ Packers (8:00 PM), Texans @ Cardinals (8:00 PM), and Bears at Chargers (9:00 PM)
Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010
There are two more games on Sunday. The 49ers travel to Indianapolis and will try to stop QB Peyton Manning and the Colts at 1:00 PM ET and the injury plagued Broncos head to Cincinnati to face the Bengals.
Monday, Aug. 16, 2010
To close out the schedule, ESPN will air, “The Battle for New York” as the Jets host the Giants in the two teams brand new stadium at 8:00 PM ET.
FOOTBALL IS HERE BABY! :D
Just Win Baby!!!!!!!!!!! From the highlights and what I’ve read we have a ferocious front seven, our defense got six sacks and conceded only nine points. That’s very promising, even if the Cowboys have to take some of the blame for poor red zone play. Our offense wasn’t great, particularly the passing game. There’s time to improve, though admittedly our O-line needs its draft picks to develop quickly as its trash currently.
The Cowboys, they gave away six sacks which will concern them and in four red zone trips only made nine points. Otherwise I don’t think they will be too concerned.
Can we say Farve is hurting the Vikings team yet?
Peterson and now Harvin don’t think the rules apply to them, right? At what point can we say all discipline is gone on this team?
Can’t wait to see how the Jets play it’s going to be an interesting season for them which could either be extremely disappointing (as a Jets fan I hope not ) or extremly exciting which is what I’m sure it will be also Jeff support the Jets this season man they will be a fun team to get behind.
After watching the “Battle for New York” I can only say one thing, Eli deserved the hit he took. As the QB, you are the voice of the team, your the leader, you wanna change a play, you make sure you call an audible and make sure everyone knows that the play has been changed. Manning’s last minute play change which caused his head wound is no one’s fault but his own and is a move not even a rookie QB would have made. Needles to say it didn’t stop the Giants beating the Jets but it could have been a lot worse and cost the Giants serious problems if Manning had of ended up seriously hurt. Similar to the Roethlisberger bike crash after Super Bowl XL, stupid decision, hopefully a lesson learned, even if it was the hard way.
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?
