Here are a few things you should know about after Week 1:

1. What was San Diego thinking? 1st and goal from the 7 and you don’t give the ball to the best runner in the league. 4 plays, 4 passes, 4 incompletions! Wow!

2. Is the Kansas City Chiefs defense really that good? They basically shut out the Jets. The Jets did not score until late in the 4th quarter with 34 seconds left in the game. The verdict is still out.

3. Are the 49ers for real? NO! They took a 28-9 lead and struggled to win 28-25. They lead the division as everyone else in the West lost, but that will not continue.

4. Eight out of the twelve playoff teams lost last year and only two of them played against each other. I think Philadelphia, Minnesota and San Diego will be OK, but Seattle, St. Louis, Green Bay, Denver and the New York Jets have a cause for concern.

5. How is life without Randy Moss? Well Moss caught 5 passes for 130 yards and 1 TD. The three Vikings receivers that caught a pass combined for 9 receptions, 105 yards and 0 TDs.

6. Are the Vikings that bad? Nope, the Minnesota Vikings are not that bad! Every superstar player is allowed one bad game. Now of course if Dante Culpepper has another game where he throws 3 INTs and fumbles twice – you’re on your own Vikings fans.

7. What’s wrong in Denver? The team that always seems to produce 1000 yard rushers only rushed for 70 yards and 18 of those yards came from QB Jake Plummer. Want to pick up Maurice Clarett, I hear he’s available.

8. When was the last time you saw the Green Bay Packers score only 3 points? Is it the defense or the offense? Now that Javon Walker is out for the season with a torn ACL, Farve is going to have a very long season. Guess that’s why my brother-in-law, a huge Packer fan, named his team PostFarvePack!

9. Maybe having three bikes stolen in Chicago is not a good reason for saying they are the worst team in football (from Episode 1), but having no running back and no quarterback is. The bears defense will keep Chicago in the game – they held Washington to 3 field goals – but Bears fans are in for a long season.
