Episode 11.11, The Week 5 Preview Show.

Richard Graves of Sky Sports News joins Steven to put his picks up for the fans for Week 5. First Steven recaps all 15 games from Week 4. He did not like how kickers ruined games for the Steelers and Jaguars.

Richard and Steven spend most of the show covering the Week 5 games, but before that, Steven talks about another coach getting fired after losing in London and Steven goes on a full on ran about the refs big gaff on Monday Night Football. He even offers the NFL as solution for their current referee woes.

Plus Steven gets to pick the Challenge game, making it the Ravens over the Browns.

Episode 11.10, The Week 4 Preview Show

An interesting Week 3 in the NFL is in the books. Only seven teams remain undefeated and people are talking about the defending Super Bowl Champion Evil Empire New England Patriots going undefeated all year.

Steven quickly recaps all 16 games in Week 3 before looking ahead in Week 4.

The Bears have a fire sale (Everything Must Go!!!) and Cowboys fans are asking Jerry to trade for Matt Forte! WHAAAAATTT?

This week, I selected Sugarlips_Jones to put his picks up against mine, but he did not get back to me as to why he selected who he selected so I will leave it up to you the fans to give me feedback as to which game should be the challenge game!

Fans get to email in to pick the Challenge Game. Which one will it be?

Episode 11.09, The Week 3 Preview Show.

Upset Weekend is in the books. Nine underdogs won outright last weekend and blew up the NFL Rants & Raves Survivor Pool. Crazy! The pool started with 149 entries and after two weeks, we are down to just 13. How crazy is that? Steven was able to win the Challenge game and although he was a miserable 6-10, the fan challenger Mick Collington did worse, going 5-11. Steven enjoys playing the Smartest Man Alive for himself.

Steven looks at the nine 0-2 teams and tells you which ones still have a shot at the playoffs and which of the nine 2-0 teams might not be there in the end. Plus, Steven tells you the real reason why Kam Chancellor has returned to Seattle. He looks at if the Cowboys can survive without QB Tony Romo for eight weeks and on Twitter, ESPN’s Ed Werder tries to convince Steven that they Cowboys traded for Matt Cassel to make him a starter and Steven isn’t buying it. Find out why!

This week, the fan challenger is last years NFL RandR Pick ‘Em Champion, David Bryson from Down Under. He joins Steven with his Week 3 picks and makes the Raiders at Browns the Challenge Game. (Note: the audio is a bit choppy.)

Episode 11.08, The Week 2 Preview Show.

What a wild Week 1. Steven says, “Now that’s how you start the NFL season! With a bang!” But he cautions everyone to remember that “It’s only 1 Week. Please don’t over react!” Steven briefly talks about his weekend in Dallas with a very interesting game and some interesting Giants fans! The injury bug rears its ugly head in Week 1 and hits some pretty big names at the wide receiver position.

Greg The Bills Fan gives the fans an early 1-0 lead as his Bills really took it to the Colts making Greg, the smartest man alive!

This week, Steven goes up against Mick Collington. Unfortunately Mick never got his game comments in before the recording of the show, so Steven just made up some comment for him. They differ on five games and Steven make the Falcons vs Giants game the Challenge Game for Week 2.

Episode 11.07, The Week 1 Preview Show.

The 2015 NFL Season kicks off two days from tonight!

The preseason is over but I think for the first time in a long time, we have a season that is about to begin with many unknowns. The Tom Brady “deflate-gate” saga may not be over just yet, but at least we have some temporary closure as Brady will play in the foreseeable future. RG3 is out in Washington, but not enough to get him cut, just demoted to 3rd string!

And why is the mother-ship (ESPN) bringing up “Spy-gate” again? Whatever, the season is HERE, and I’ve got 16 games to discuss so there is no time for that crazy news story.

Greg The Bills Fan joins Steven to put up his weekly picks in Steven vs The Fans. Last year Steven won and already the fans are starting strong as Steven and Greg differ on six games. That’s plenty to start the NFL season with a bang. We’ll go over those games plus give our thoughts on the 10 games we agree on!

Episode 11.06, Preseason Week 3 Preview Show.

First two weeks of the preseason are in the books and here comes the ever important Week 3 dress rehearsal. Steven says you won’t find any starters playing in that final preseason game.

The Injury Bug reared its ugly head over the weekend knocking out some big names and having players and fans alike asking, why even have a preseason? Other things coming out of Week 2 preseason games:
Odell Beckham Jr & Victor Cruz have a beef with the Jaguars defense
The Rams take shots at TSizzle & Harbaugh has to come to his defense
Plus Aaron Rodgers has a problem with these meaningless games.

Steven discusses some of those big injuries, plus Michael Vick is a Steeler, and Steven asks why all the fuss? The Houston Texans decide on their starting QB, Michael Bennett calls out QBs, the Patriots make a splash with 2 big moves and the 49ers have not one but two good ole boys!

Finally Steven ends the show talking about Cris Carters’ shocking advice to rookie players at the Rookie Symposium. And the Show Donor Wheel of FUN pulls a new winner.

Episode 11.05, Preseason Week 2 Preview Show. The first video broadcast of NFL Rants & Raves on Periscope. What’s up Periscope peeps!

September 10th cannot get here soon enough! Not just because it’s Steven’s birthday, but because the NFL Kickoffs the season in Foxboro and games will matter!

Week 1 of the preseason is over and all it did was whet his appetite for guess what??? MORE FOOTBALL! Time for Commissioner Goodell to stop messing around with deflategate and figure out how to shorten the preseason already! Let’s REALLY GET BACK TO FOOTBALL!!!

Steven talks about the Eli Manning report that says he wants to be the highest paid QB, however Eli puts the kibosh on that report and Steven gives you his thoughts on that situation. So many season ending injuries continue to plague the NFL during training camps. I’ll also give you my take with the current rash of fights in the NFL and I have a couple of suggestions on how to make it stop! This really makes Steven put out a good rant!

Plus James Harrison vs Trophies? What!!! And Steven wishes we could just put an end to the Brady vs the NFL stuff as he asks, has this gotten worse than the Brett Farve will he won’t he retire from a few years ago?

Episode 11.04, Preseason Week 1.

Can you smell that people? Football is in the Air!!! Hall of Fame weekend concluded as the Vikings defeated the Steelers in the Hall of Fame game, 14-3. All teams are in training camp mode as Week 1 of the NFL Preseason kicks off Thursday night.

Steven was at Cowboys Camp over the weekend and he’ll share a few stories about that, including some celebrity sightings. The Patriots cut Matt Flynn and brought in another QB. Aldon Smith finally gets cut by the 49ers and Steven discusses the arrest that finally sealed his fate.

Plus a Jets QB gets sucker-punched, the Texans kick off Hard Knocks tonight, and one of the original voices of Monday Night Football passes away. Steven take a minute to toast the great Frank Gifford.

And finally Steven spins the Random Wheel of Fun and gives out his first prize to the great show donors.

Episode 11.03, The NFL News and Training Camp Preview Show.

After taking the longest hiatus ever from NFL Rants & Raves, Steven is finally back for the long haul of Season 11. He took some much needed R&R to recharge the batteries, hang out with my family, catch up with some old friends and really take the time to make sure he was up for another season! Plus the remodeling of the Rave Cave meant dealing with technical difficulties that have not all been resolved just yet but regardless of all that, he’s back!

So much has happened since the last show and Steven touches on a ton of it. Suspensions for big names in Dallas, New York and San Diego! Suspension reduction for someone in Dallas, and what the heck is it taking so long to come up with a decision on Tom Brady! Come on already. Steven jumps on his soap-box regarding the league’s current handling of suspensions.

Plus Richard Graves of Sky Sports News joins Steven to discuss the three huge deals that happened today! Big payday for Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas and Justin Houston. Although Steven does not feel one of them deserves the big phat contract!

Episode 11.02, The NFL Draft Recap Show.

The dust of the 2015 NFL Draft has settled and it’s time to talk about some of the big picks, the head-scratchers, winners and losers during the three day NFL event. As you know, I am not a big fan of passing out grades after the draft, but Richard Graves of Sky Sports News joins me to discuss what you might have missed during the draft.

Plus Ted Wells releases his report and the question is “Will Tom Brady crash and burn because of it?” Richard will weigh in on that as well. We also talk about the Cowboys signing of La’el Collins and LeSean McCoy’s calling out of Chip Kelly for letting go of “Black Players.”

NOTE: since there were technical difficulties at getting the show up, Steven recorded another five minutes at the end to discuss the Patriots and Tom Brady’s punishments.
