The guys return from the Thanksgiving Holiday a little rested and take a look back at the weekend’s games. Jeff calls Week 12 as the week that cannot be characterized since it was a pretty weird week. Steven and Jeff start the show with an insta-RANT before the intro gets played, and Steven rips into Ndamukong Suh.

Then they discuss Bills WR Steve Johnson’s endzone celebration mocking Jets WR Plaxico Burress and WR Santonio Holmes and drawing a penalty which helped cost the Bills the game. Steven also has a problem with Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe not reaching up to try and catch the ball in the Chiefs/Steelers game.

Finally, with the previous podcast unfinished, there is a disagreement on the Challenge Game, but Jeff says he feels no pressure and gives Steven the Rams/Cardinals game as the Challenge Game. (although Steven had it marked on his document, there is no audio evidence)

The guys take a look at the Week 12 match-ups. Due to some technical difficulties, the show was not available to be posted on Wednesday night, but here it is in all its glory. Except for the final 5+ minutes. You will hear the show just fade and stop, that’s because there was a computer mishap.

On Thanksgiving, Jeff went 3-0 taking Green Bay, Dallas and Baltimore, while Steven finished turkey day 1-2, only getting Dallas right and missing on Detroit and San Francisco. Here are those picks along with picks for the other 13 games.

Plus the guys discuss some of the latest QB changes.

The guys take a look back at Week 11. With the news of Jay Cutler’s broken thumb breaking, Steven begins to question the toughness of the Bears QB, however Jeff continues to give Jay the benefit of the doubt. Steven proceeds to compare Jay Cutler to the London Eye. The Benglas/Ravens game leaves Steven to question, “What is a touchdown in the NFL?” since Jermaine Gresham’s catch in the endzone was over-turned on a significantly questionable call leaving Steven to say that might have cost the Bengals the game.

In recapping the games, the guys think the Jets and Bills are both in serious trouble after dropping to 5-5. Jeff would like for both wild card teams in the AFC to come out of the AFC North, while Steven thinks both the AFC and NFC playoff spots are wide open. Steven clamors for the 49ers to be bumped up to Gold status, but Jeff is sticking to his guns that nobody can compete with the Packers this year.

Finally, with the Bills getting blown out by the Dolphins, Jeff has built up a seven game lead in the Challenge Game prompting even Steven to agree that he has little chance of catching up. Jeff’s magic number is now at two – meaning two more wins in the Challenge Game and Steven will not be able to catch him this season.

The guys get you ready for Week 11 by taking a look at all 14 games on the schedule for this week. In NFL News, the guys discuss Andy Reid’s future with the Philadelphia Eagles, and whether the Packers can go 16-0 or the Colts can go 0-16.

The guys take a look at the Texans chances with Matt Leinart at quarterback. Steven says he wants to see them play against the Jaguars before jumping to any conclusions, but both guys agree that the Texans will be an entirely different team without Matt Schaub calling the signals.

In picking games, the guys differ on only two games but was reduced to just one different game when news of the Chargers O-Line was reported to Steven after recording. That leaves the sole game disagreement on Buffalo at Miami. Steven has the Bills while Jeff has the Dolphins. Steven is chasing six games and needs this one or the season is over in the Challenge Game.

The guys talk about the wild wacky west divisions in the NFL as for the first time since 2002, all 4 teams in the NFC West, (49ers, Cardinals, Rams and Seahawks), won on the same weekend. The guys bring you up to the minutes news as they discuss bad news for QBs named Matt, as Schaub may be out for the year with a foot injury and Cassel will require surgery on his hand and may be out for the year.

In picks, the guys go over the 15 games played Sunday and Steven is not happy with Mike Smith’s decision to go for it on 4th and inches from his own 29 yard line. Jeff gets that win as well as getting another Challenge Game, this time because the Browns could not successfully get a 22-yard field goal down and in for the win over the Rams. Steven is now down 6 games and is heading for losing the overall Challenge.

Finally, the guys wrap up in quick fashion as Steven apologizes for his tangents on getting Jeff to put the 49ers in the Gold Medal tier in his Powerful Rankings.

The guys get you ready for a great schedule of games for Week 10, with five Games of the Week and El Juego Grande Estupendo de la Semana matching up a 7-1 vs 6-2 teams when the Giants visit the 49ers. In the news, the guys discuss the Patriots releasing Albert Haynesworth and the Buccaneers claiming him off of waivers. Steven does not like the move, but he feels with the Bucs injuries on defense, it was most likely the right move.

Steven and Jeff only disagree on four games this week, even though there are 16 games on the non-bye week schedule. Jeff is taking four road teams (Saints, Titans, Rams, Jaguars) while Steven things the home teams in those games will take care of business, (Falcons, Panthers, Browns, Colts). Interestingly, the guys agree on the Bears beating the Lions and Jets beating the Patriots.

Finally, with Jeff holding a commanding five game lead in the Challenge Game, Steven locks in the Browns to beat the Rams at home as this week’s challenge game.

The guys return from Las Vegas and as you know, “What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas!” That includes the guys’ voices which you can hear. The guys talk about the Forbes.com list of the Most Disliked Players in the NFL. Steven is shocked that Michael Vick tops the list at #1, and that Bears QB Jay Cutler is on the list at #5.

The guys then quickly go over the 13 games of Week 9. Both are shocked that the Steelers and Patriots both lost in the final seconds of the game against the Ravens and Giants, respectively. Both Eli Manning and Joe Flacco looked great in leading come from behind last minute TD drives to win the game.

Finally, Jeff jumps out to a huge 5 game lead in the Challenge Game as the Bengals defeat the Titans to move to 6-2 and a share of the lead in the AFC North.

The guys get you ready for Week 9 of the NFL Season, but first, they discuss some NFL News, including the fact that referees are now being asked to look closer at players that might display concussion symptoms. Right, as if they don’t have enough to do already.

Next, the guys get ready for El Juego Grande Estupendo De La Semana, but Steven doesn’t like that Ravens’ Terrell Suggs compares Steelers-Ravens to the Super Bowl. Steven almost demotes the game out of spite, but Jeff talks him out of it. Any way, the guys agree that there are plenty of good games on the slate for this weekend, including Saints-Bucs, Giants-Patriots and Jets-Bills.

Finally, Steven acknowledges that he needs to kick it up a notch if he wants to catch Jeff, especially in the Challenge Game, where Jeff has a 4 game lead. Steven takes Tennessee over Cincinnati but Jeff feels the Bengals are for real and will beat the Titans in Tennessee.

WOW – lots of scary things happening on Halloween! Week 8 saw the RAMS upset the Saints, the Eagles thrash the Cowboys and Christian Ponder and the Vikings beat Cam Newton and the Panthers in Carolina.

Jeff enjoys an unprecedented 4 game lead in the Challenge Game and he is not sure if he can keep it up, while Steven says he has to step it up to not get left behind.

Finally the guys cover the 12 games played in Week 8 and are mystified by some of the results. And NO, they don’t pile on Tim Tebow.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
