Steven and Jeff dive in for huge NFL News, with the trading of Donovan McNabb, the release of Marc Bulger and Shaun Rogers legal battles. How can you NOT know there is a gun in your carry-on! Can you believe that Steven had positive things to say about the Washington Redskins?
The guys then get you ready for the NFL Draft as they take a look at the AFC East and North divisions by discussing the teams needs. Steven is not kind to the Bills and Browns, while taking a little stab at Tom Brady, while Jeff tries to dive deeper in trying to play GM and figure out which players teams will actually take.
Plus the guys launch a new website and ask our listeners to reach out and help us help us and help you! UK listeners, please email blitz@rarn.net
Glad to see this episode – ESPN would you just sign these guys to a contract already? They are better than any radio you have to offer including Cowherd.
Thanks for the episode. Would have liked needs to have been done more comprehensively, like last year’s though. Too much time talking about McNabb and Rogers, taking away time from the draft needs.
Still, thanks again for the effort.
As always, doing the best we can. I was as disappointed as everyone else that we did not get further. Maybe the league will make things easier on us and eliminate a dozen or so teams ;-)
Good plan Jeff! split the league in 2! bring promotion and relegation into it! great fun!
I like the new look of the site. Hopefully it’ll bring people back to the site.
That is the plan pacmunchkin. Hopefully we can start getting more and more comments on each show and each post. So everyone can enjoy this football community we got going on here.
I finally got to listen to this episode on a long drive this weekend. Great show, I really enjoyed the stuff about the McNabb trade. I’d give Kolb a little more credit, but the bottom line is, we really don’t know and won’t know for months :-(
And this show has a definitive R&R section. On what other NFL show, or indeed ANY sports show, would you get a discussion about which is dumber, a post or a stump? Fantastic!
I know you guys have been anti-Cutler, but seriously. McNabb has been around, what, 11 seasons now? He’s been to 5 title games, sure. But you guys used it as an argument against Cutler… Who’s only been in the league for 5 years!! And, to be quite honest, Cutler was coming off an absolutely fantastic season at the time of the trade, throwing for 4,500 yards and 25 touchdowns; if not for Drew Brees’ 5,000 yard season, Cutler would have been the star QB of that season. And he was only 25 at the time!!! The Cutler and McNabb deals are completely unrelated because of that. A team isn’t going to send two first-round picks for McNabb because McNabb’s 33; you can reasonably expect him to play for about 3 more seasons. However, Cutler was 25 at the time of the trade; you can reasonably expect him to play for 10 more seasons! A young, Pro Bowl quarterback coming off his best season is worth more then an 11-year Pro Bowl quarterback. It’s basic math that I think you guys should understand.
I have to slightly agree with that but cutler’s passer rating that season was 86. He was in a team who’s best running back was Michael Pittman who barely averaged more than 40 yards per game so he had to through the ball. Also they didn’t make the play offs when the eagles did.
I think that the bears lost badly on that trade but at the time in was only just in Denver’s favour in this trade i think the eagles lost.
We won’t fully no though until the draft picks they chose have a few years in the NFL.
