In an unprecedented move – our Good, Bad and Ugly segment for Week 2 includes the same team, the Dallas Cowboys, in all three categories.
The Good
The Dallas Cowboys inducted future Hall-of-Famers Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin and Troy Aikman into their Ring of Honor on Monday night. Being there live was awesome and the Cowboys organization did a great job with the ceremony.
The Good – Part II
The NFL and its teams and players raised $5 million for the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund in about 6½ hours. John Elway and Donovan McNabb were just some of the current and past NFL players that spent between 75 minutes to 2 hours answering phones on Monday night taking donations. That was pretty cool.
The Bad
The Cowboys just can’t put teams away. After taking a 13 point lead deep into the fourth quarter, the Dallas Cowboys gave up a 39 yard TD pass on 4th and 15. That’s the second week in a row, the Cowboys allow first downs on 4th and long. Last week, they allowed the Chargers a completion of 33 yards on 4th and 14 to give the Chargers another four tries to get into the end zone. They got away with a win in San Diego, but lost in Dallas. This time it came back to haunt them.
The Ugly
Goes to the Cowboys again. After giving up a 33 yard TD on 4th and 14 to the Redskins, instead of learning from that first mistake, and moving cornerback Terrance Newman, who was covering the tight end on the inside, back to the outside to cover Moss – they made no change, and the same thing happened again and CB Glenn got burned on a 70 yard TD pass on THE EXACT SAME PLAY THEY GOT BEAT ON JUST A MINUTE EARLIER!
The Ugly Part II
The Vikings! Dante throws 5 interceptions. 5 of them! And that brings his two week total to 8 INTs on the year. I leave you with this question. Is Randy Moss that good or is Dante Culpepper just that bad?
Bear down, Chicago Bears!!!
Sorry, Nipper. Hope you’re feeling better.
