Welcome to the NFL Power List!

This list represents my power rankings based on how the team is performing right now in the season. Remember when everyone was talking about parity in the NFL after Week 4. Well that’s all gone now as the league returns to those teams that have and those that have not!

The Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons were embarrassed and lost the two top spots making way for Peyton Manning. He has his Denver Broncos up top now, riding their eight game winning streak.

Texans DENVER BRONCOS: 10-3
No team is hotter than the Broncos right now as they are in the midst of an eight-game winning streak. Manning threw his 30th TD pass and recorded his 7th 300-yard game of the season.
Falcons NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: 10-3
They made a statement with their 42-14 thrashing of the Texans. If they wind up with home field advantage throughout the playoffs, you might as well just pencil them into the Super Bowl.
Broncos HOUSTON TEXANS: 11-2
Not quite ready for primetime. It is OK to make letterman jackets and wear them. Just make sure you play like a pro team and not like 1A high school team! They need to learn how to play on the big stage.
Patriots SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: 9-3-1
Yes, they won, but they did not look good doing so. These next two weeks on the road against the Patriots and Seahawks will tell us everything we need to know about Harbaughs QB change.
49ers ATLANTA FALCONS: 11-2
You cannot complain about not getting attention when you get beat by a team with a losing record. Atlanta has already clinched a playoff spot, but I feel they may be destined for another playoff collapse.
Ravens GREEN BAY PACKERS: 9-4
Another sluggish start for the Packers but they managed to pull out another win. The door for the No. 1 spot in the playoffs is open. If only they had won in Seattle back in Week 3. Did I just go there? Doh!
Packers INDIANAPOLIS COLTS: 9-4
One more win and they are in the playoffs. Andrew Luck has been amazing, but at some point, having to comeback to win every week is going to catch up to them.
Bears NEW YORK GIANTS: 8-5
Guess the Giants aren’t ready to give up their lead in the NFC East just yet. David Wilson might be the spark the Giants needed on offense. Now if only their defense can turn it up a notch.
Colts

BALTIMORE RAVENS: 9-4
Two straight losses and Ravens hit the panic button? Was firing Cam Cameron really the best thing to do so late in the season? If the offense continues to struggle, who do you blame then? Lot’s of Questions.

Steelers SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: 8-5
After a 58-0 spanking of Arizona, nobody wants to go up to Seattle to play right now. Will they be ready for San Francisco if the 49ers stumble in New England next week? That could be for all the marbles.
Giants

WASHINGTON REDSKINS: 7-6
Nobody is making fun of Washington now for that Kirk Cousins pick in the draft. One thing is certain, RG3 cannot afford to keep getting hit like that. What was Shanahan doing letting RG3 go back on the field?

Bengals CHICAGO BEARS: 8-5
No Cutler. No win. No good. The Bears are simply a different football team without Jay Cutler on the field. Can the defense step up in the final three games?
Seahawks DALLAS COWBOYS: 7-6
An incredible gutsy performance after a tragic event. At one point in the 2nd half, the defense had two regular starters on the field. If the Cowboys can get this makeshift defense to start to believe in itself, they might be able to get the job done.
Redskins PITTSBURGH STEELERS: 7-6
Without a running game, it doesn’t matter who is under center. A loss to the lowly Chargers at home does not inspire confidence going forward. Fortunately the Ravens and Bengals lost too.
Cowboys MINNESOTA VIKINGS: 7-6
Just keep feeding Adrian Peterson the ball. If you cannot make the playoffs, the very least you can do is get him to 2,105. Heck, let Peterson carry you into the playoffs.
Vikings CINCINNATI BENGALS: 7-6
Tough last second home loss. Not sure how the highest sacking team only gets to Tony Romo three times. A.J. Green cannot disappear in big games if they hope to be competitive down the stretch.
Buccaneers ST. LOUIS RAMS: 6-6-1
Right now the Rams must be asking, “What if?” What if Gregg Williams is not suspended? What if they pulled off the upset in San Francisco? What if they could have beat the Dolphins in Week 6? What if?…
Saints NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: 5-8
Bounty or not, this defense has not bought into Spagnuolo’s system and they continue to be the worst defense in the league. You cannot give up over 430 yard per game and expect to win many of them.
Rams NEW YORK JETS: 6-7
They managed to hold on for the win against the lowly Jags. No worries Jets fans, Braylon Edwards to the rescue. Didn’t Edwards just call the Jets front office “idiots”? He did it on Twitter.
Lions TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS: 6-7
Someone should explain to Greg Schiano that this was a game where he should have made his team play hard until the end. Giving up 13 points in the final four minutes is NOT good.
Bills CLEVELAND BROWNS: 5-8
Wait for it… The Browns are on a three-game winning streak! Mike Holmgren might be gone, but Pat Shurmur is making sure he is doing enough to keep his job for another year.
Dolphins SAN DIEGO CHARGERS: 5-8
Maybe the Chargers should threaten Norv Turner’s job earlier in the season. Nothing gets them playing harder than when the coach’s job is on the line.
Jets DETROIT LIONS: 4-9
How can a team with so much talent on both sides of the ball be this bad? Discipline. Right now, the Lions don’t have any.
Browns BUFFALO BILLS: 5-8
The Bills can’t catch a break. Fred Jackson is done for the season. Maybe Chan Gailey and C.J. Spiller can make up now so that Spiller can get more touches.
Chargers MIAMI DOLPHINS: 5-8
They were able to travel across the country and hold their own against the 49ers. I did not expect much from this team all year and with their upcoming schedule, they have the potential for an 8-8 season.
Cardinals CAROLINA PANTHERS: 4-9
Cam Newton makes you think this team can go places. Newton had over 400 yards of offense against the Falcons. If only the Panthers had surrounded him with a few more weapons this year.
Titans PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: 4-9
With a surprising comeback win over the Bucs, the Nick Foles era has officially begun in Philadelphia. They certainly have some great young talent on the team, now if they could only stop all those turnovers.
Eagles

TENNESSEE TITANS: 4-9
Jake Locker still has a long way to go. Also, what’s up with Chris Johnson’s up-and-down year? One week he runs hard and the next week he gains 44 yards on 19 carries.

Panthers OAKLAND RAIDERS: 3-10
Maybe it’s best that Al Davis isn’t around to see this. After back-to-back 8-8 seasons, looks like Oakland might not even get to 4 wins this season. McFadden hurt again? Come on, man!
Raiders ARIZONA CARDINALS: 4-9
Remember when the Cardinals started 4-0 and I said they wouldn’t make the playoffs and people laughed at me. Who’s laughing now? Cardinals drop nine straight and even have Larry Fitzgerald’s dad saying the team has quit. After a 58-0 beatdown, who wouldn’t?
Chiefs JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: 2-11
Chad Henne had everyone fooled there for a while. No, he is not the answer at quarterback. This team can’t run (ranked 29th overall) and can’t pass (24th overall). Not beating anyone with those rankings.
Jaguars KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: 2-11
What did you expect after last week’s heartfelt, emotional win? Back to the cellar for the Chiefs after another single digit offensive performance means another loss. How did this team win two games?
