Week 13 is in the books and the division races are still tight as every division leader is either tied for first place, or one game ahead of the second place team. Except in the AFC West, where the Chiefs (8-4) have a two game lead on the Chargers and Raiders, both at 6-6.
Steven and Jeff start off with the news and none bigger than the firing of head coach Josh McDaniels in Denver. The guys go on to discuss Ben Roethlisberger needing surgery for his broken nose, the discrepancy between the fines given to Ravens Haloti Ngata and Jameel McClain for hits on Steelers players, Dez Bryant being lost for the season during the Cowboys win over the Colts, Lions head coach Jim Schwartz not buying what the NFL is selling on Ndamukong Suh‘s unnecessary roughness penalty, the 49ers turning back to QB Alex Smith and whether or not Brett Favre will play his 298th consecutive game with his multitude of injuries. No wonder the show goes for 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Finally the guys recap the 16 games this week. Steven is the Smartest Man Alive this week as the Falcons beat the Buccaneers and also makes up 3 games on Jeff going 13-3 while Jeff finished at 10-6. Steven feels that Eric Mangini made the wrong call at the end of the game, even though it worked out for the Browns and both guys believe the Titans have called it quits for this season.
Also, we are asking for your help this Holiday season. Please help out friend of the show, Jeremy Mauss who is trying to raise money for an autism service dog for his son JD. Go here and donate to the cause. Thank you!
The hit by Haloti Ngata on Big Ben was not helmet to helmet. Ngata’s hand hit Ben in the face as he was taking him down
Seriously Steven? Why are you a McNabb apologist? 300 yards?
McNabb was awful this week (like all this year). His accuracy was terrible (it was never great). The Majority of his yards were in garbage time. Anthony Armstrong played a decent game, McNabb couldn’t find him. And it isn’t like the the line played horrible. They didn’t play great, letting up a couple sacks, but he had time in the pocket. McNabb threw one td in garbage time on blown coverage, and threw two picks and fumbled three times. three times!
His team sucks, but he is not a good QB. there’s about 15 QB’s atleast I’d take over him. His team is only the 24th in dropped passes (18), while he is outside the top 20 in completion percentage.

I have to agree with akmgiants assessment. I thought Sunday McNabb looked as bad as he has all season. I think he still has the ability to be a good QB, but his performance Sunday was very poor. I think his legs are still an issue that won’t be resolved this season. He is no longer a mobile QB and that is a bad combination with how poor we are on the offensive line. I also agree that while McNabb was sacked and hurried a few times, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be going into the game given how good the Gmen’s pass rushing is. The Lions game was much worse from that standpoint.
I don’t know if the pre game situation with Haynesworth was to blame, or the lack of any kind of running game, or the lack of defensive backfield starters ( no Carlos Rogers, no LaRon Landry), but McNabb (along with most of the team) seemed very disinterested in being on the field at all on Sunday. It looked like the offense felt like if the defense can’t tackle anybody, then what’s the use of trying, and then the defense seemed like, if the offense can’t stop turning the ball over, we’re just gonna be on the field all day.
Poor game all around, not just on Donovan, so I agree with Steven on that count, but Donovan did nothing to rally or lead the team and his performance wasn’t very good when it needed to be. Getting to 300 yards through the air is possible when you have absolutely no running game whatsoever, and that’s where the Skins are right now.
I was all set to come in here and berate Steven for his lack of taste regarding the Packers throwbacks, which were beautiful (not to mention totally authentic). But then his rendition of Live Wire (Crue!) proved that he is a man of discernment.

I agree with Steven, those Packers throwbacks are DIS-GUS-TING! They’re horrible! I was thinking the exact same thing about the pool ball numbers as well haha.
Besides, the red Patriots throwback is the best. Man they look good in that uniform.

Lets fce it the Patriots just look good!
Steven even said don’t bet against the patriots this week and yes that is the same man who told me they would go 9&7 and miss the playoffs.
PS. Just started listening to the next show and have to say DONT EVER GET RID OF THE BOBBLEHEADS!!
