The guys get right to it talking about Von Miller’s suspension in NFL NEWS. Both guys thing this could become a huge problem with the Denver Broncos and Steven makes Miller, Boob ‘O’ The Day! The Buffalo Bills get Jairus Byrd back as he signs his one-year, $6.9 million franchise tender, Browns coach Rob Chudzinski finally names Brandon Weeden as Cleveland’s starting QB, but Barkevious Mingo’s return to the field remains a mystery and Steven both agrees and disagrees with James Harrison’s latest antics on Hard Knocks from Cincinnati.
As the guys turn their attention to the NFC West, Steven asks can Jay Cutler handle the Marc Trestman offense? While Jeff calls Cutler a one-trick pony! The guys agree that the Detroit Lions are not good, even with Superstar Calvin Johnson on the team. The Green Bay Packers remain the tops in the division but have they finally found a running game? Steven expects good things from Eddie Lacy. Steven thinks the Minnesota Vikings can give the Packers a run for their money and hopes they avoid a QB controversy w/ Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel? Jeff thinks Cassel has no shot
There are 6 spots left in extra fantasy football league. So if there are 6 more players out there, please come forward! The guys also preview a new segment for next week, Dig and Ditch on DraftDay. This will be a segment where Jeff and Steven will discuss which players to put on their DraftDay fantasy teams and why. Coming soon!
Here’s where you all are wrong about the Bears…
1) O line is going to be MUCH better. Go look at how PFF graded Long. Bushrod is a pro bowl LT. Mills looks like a OK RT. This is going to be a perfectly OK O line, and that is a HUGE improvement. remember when Cutler had an OK O line + Marshall? That was a pro bowl year for him.
2) No doubt loosing Urlacher is going to hurt some, but how many D’s in the NFL are going to put 2 pro bowl starting CBs on the field? Answer: 1. Bears D line is still stacked, Bears DBs are the best in the league, and their LBs are still pretty good. Pretty unlikely they’ll have 9 TDs again, but I would bet on 5 or 6. Add 2 or 3 from Hester, and maybe a couple of other ST TDs.
3) How many teams in the NFL would you take their QB + WR + RB combo over the Bears?
4
4) Lovie had to go. Lovie is a great defensive coach, but have you seen the Bears O for the last 10 years? Have you seen the O coordinates that Lovie hired? The NFL is an Offensive league, and Lovie was terrible at O.
5) #23. Maybe you’ve heard of him? He’s not trying to play WR, or DB. He’s a full time returner.
6) Terstman – Have you seen the NFL history this guy has been involved in? Pretty impressive.
Yeah, the Bears have a brutal schedule. Maybe they won’t win 10 games again this year. This is still a pretty good team.
