Super Bowl 49 selection took place today and it came down to Tampa Bay, Florida and Glendale, Arizona. On the second ballot, the owners awarded the game to Glendale, Arizona. The guys say good, as they should not get a game in a city that cannot support its local football team or baseball team.
The NFL is waiting to make a final decision on Cedric Benson and his suspension as they wait for Benson’s meeting with the NLRB to get resolved. Last week I had no interest in watching the Broncos play Miami, now I’m actively looking forward to that game.
It doesn’t matter that he’s not an elite QB, it doesn’t matter that he was rusty in that third quarter, what matters is that he gives them a better shot at winning games than Orton did – with no time left on the clock they were still in that San Diego game, that’s what he brings, that’s what the fans want and that’s why I’ll be making sure I don’t miss his next game.
Because no matter what happens, it’s going to be interesting.
