Today, the guys make everyone a part or Raider Nation as they say good bye to an icon in Al Davis. Davis passed away this Saturday at the age of 82 and Steven says the Raiders went out Sunday with heavy hearts & found a way to Just Win, Baby, beating Houston 25-20. Jeff says shame on the media for just now addressing some of the great things Al did for the NFL.
Surprise, Surprise, Surpries. Road teams dominate in Week 5 as there were seven road teams that all came out victorious, including the Raiders, Chiefs, Bengals and SEAHAWKS.
The guys talk about their visit to Atlanta for the Packers/Falcons game and as they share images taken at the game, they talk about how the Packers felt the Falcons were taking cheap shots after the whistle. B.J. Raji said, “I don’t know what the deal is. I think it’s a lack of talent on their part. We didn’t worry about any of that.”
Finally in MRI Monday the Texans lose Mario Williams for the season as he suffers a pectoral injury against the Raiders, the Browns DE Marcus Benard crashed a motorcycle into a highway wall in Cleveland, but his injuries “are not life threatening”. Other players making the MRI list inculde Colts RB Joseph Addai, Titans RB Chris Johnson, Buccaneers DT Gerald McCoy, 49ers WR Josh Morgan, both Chargers running backs Mike Tolbert and Ryan Mathews and Packers LTChad Clifton.
To be fair the first show I ever listened to The Raiders had just drafted Darius Heywood-Bay at 7 and you guys were ripping out of him calling him a senial old man and it was very funny. Being new to the league at the time that is how I knew him but it didnt take long for me to realise what a great man he was for the Raiders and the game of Football.
I think it is fitting that the likes of Heywood Bey, Janikowski, and Micheal Huff who he has taken so much flack for over the years proved to be the game winners on Sunday.
