The 49ers 24-23 victory came by scoring 21 unanswered points in the 3rd and 4th quarters and even showcased (briefly), Turlock’s very own Colin Kaepernick making his NFL debut. Frank Gore stepped it up BIG after being benched by Coach Harbaugh to start the game. Kendal Hunter took the ball a few times before the Gore was set loose to improve on his 2.5 yards per carry average. Gore along with a ball-hawking defense was just the formula to send the Eagles to a 1-3 start.
Though Jesus promised that the meek shall inherit the Earth, Alex Smith, was far from meek last week. Smith, once the butt of many jokes has answered critics by being nominated for the FedEx Air award for week 4. In a preview of the week 5 matchup against the 3-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the 3-1 Niners have their hands full. Look for another red-out at the Stick this Sunday in a HUGE early season game.
