Jim Harbaugh must be one hell of an awesome coach. He is gonna make a DE (aldon Smith) into a OLB. He is gonna make Colin K from a shotgun guy to a under centre guy (although I beleive this is common in NFL) and a DE who they think would be a great fullback although he hasnt played O for 4 years. What do you think? Is this normal? I wonder how JH will do with Alex too. I see he was in long enough to be given a playbook.

Also I was thinking; And are the 49ers moving to a 3-4 like Harbaugh had in Stanford?, If the Lions get another defensive end to match Vanden Bosch they could have the best DL in the NFL easily (Colts only hasve DEs and 3-4 OLBs do not count as DLs with me)

Long one, hope I got it in on time. Would the Dolphins have done better to trade down in the 1st for an extra 2nd, picked Ingram (an every down no wildcat nonsence back) in the 1st and got a decent Guard/Center for better value in the second? I worry Mike Pouncey was taken high on the back of Marquis’ performance last year!

This year’s draft was my first and I was wondering what are your opinions on the strategy of simply picking the best player available, and not drafting according to your needs?
It seems a bit strange to me for a team who has other needs to draft a player they don’t necessarily require. The Lions pick of Nick Fairley is one that springs to mind.
yeah. the usual starting line up was Sopoaga, Franklin (eventually) and Smith up front. With Manny, Beast, Spikes and Brooks although the outside guys rotated alot.

Do you think that had the Seahawks had the 10th pick in the 3rd Round that they would have drafted Ryan Mallet at QB rather than another OL in John Moffit given that they may lose Hasselback in free agency (my prediction is Palmer from the Bengals to the Redskins, Hasselbeck to Bengals)? OR is their drafting of two OLs with their first two picks a statement of intent that they need to shore up their offensive line this year and Carpenter is given a season so that they can go and draft a QB in 2012 with the thought Hasselbeck gives them one more year before moving on?

hi guys,
in light of the recent rule changes, with all the new grey area thats going to be brought in, i figured why not have a simple rule. a strike zone. any tackle must be no higher than the upper chest. it protects the head and neck, and , in all honesty is much more effective. if you watch rugby players tackle,you’ll notice that missed tackles are quite rare. keep low, hit with your shoulder and wrap your arms to ensure the player cant escape. any high tackles deemed to be ‘dangerous’ should result in a 15 yard personal foul penalty. i watch the games and see player launching themselves and trying to just hit player hard.that may look good but isnt really that effective.the tackler should use the runners momentum to make him fall. simple,take ’em by the legs, and theres no reason to turn yourself into a torpedo!
