All teams have now played a fourth of the season and the one thing the guys agree on is that this is a different kind of year. Steven and Jeff have some fun at talking about all the NFL news this week. First they take a look at the possibility of Brett Favre’s streak of consecutive starts coming to end, and Steven says he would much rather have Favre and “Father Time” playing against the Cowboys this week.
The guys also discuss the following NFL news as Rex Ryan says he and not Darrelle Revis will make the decision on whether Revis play this weekend, Andy Reid not ruling out Michael Vick for Sunday’s game, Tom Brady saying “No Mas, NO Moss!” to questions about the departed receiver, the Chargers finally pay LT Marcus McNeill a ton of cash and a report that the NFL stands to lose $1 billion if players are locked out in 2011. OUCH!
Finally the guys take a look at the 14 games coming up in Week 6. Steven and Jeff make a friendly wager on who will pick more games correctly this week as they differ on four games. Steven makes Jets at Broncos the challenge game, with Steven taking the Jets and Jeff taking the Broncos.
I hate the Giants….
First, I am glad to finally hear some positive talk from both of you about a Jaguar game–granted, it was not to praise the Jags, but at least you said it is a game that should be watched. Thank you.
Second, you really didn’t know Steven doesn’t like horses???? Haven’t you ever listened to him talk about the Broncos? ;-)
Hello,
Just began listening to your podcast jeez my Raiders get no love i mean 2-3 2nd in our division going against a winless team and they are favored by 7 are you serious. Anyways love the show yoou guys do a great job
Howard
As a chargers fan, I approve of the no love for the raiders. That said, I would have taken the Raiders if Gradkowski was playing. Not sure if Campbell can get the job done.
can we say goodbye to Norv now please…. why oh why do i put the stupid chargers in my acculmulators!!!
I’m another Raiders fan – if you want to watch bad football, watch Niners/Raiders. Its become The Battle of the Punters, its that bad. How we’re a missed chip shot FG from being 3-2 I’m not sure, because we’ve not been good at all.
Guys, for chrissakes, by the end of the pod cast the clip of the kid screaming that heated the Raiders was so grating I had to turn it off. Tone it down with the sound clips of children screaming, please.
I HATE FOOTBALL!!!!!!!
Am I missing something or is there no review show.
Maybe Steven is back into the hospital again lol
I have always felt that they both have a dislike for the Giants and have mentioned this plenty times in the past, Steven for obvious cowboy reasons but Jeff’s Giants = Yankees nonsense always seems very weak and is totaly unfounded. The Giants are traditional organisation, family run for families (the reason they have no cheerleaders) and always treat players fairly and well, and seek help for players in troubled times (see LT or Plaxico). If you are looking for a Yankees. look no further than those Cowboys who can attribute their 3 Jerry Jones superbowl victories to the fact that there was no salary cap in that era and took advantage of that.
It’s been awhile since the last show. Maybe Steven has decided to take more than ten minutes to make his picks this week!
Steven was ill earlier in the week, so there was no Week 6 recap show – these things tend to get announced on Facebook, not this website, unfortunately.
But you’ll see there is now an epsiode 6.31 Week 6 recap/Week 7 preview show available on this site (although not announced on Facebook, unless I missed it)!
Ah, it’s just been announced – Steven was obviously busy posting when I wrote the above.
I’m glad you’re better, Steven.
