Matt Leinart
Breaking news from Glendle, Arizona where Cardinals Head Coach,
Ken Whisenhunt has decided that enough is enough. Frustration with an ineffective offense has led him to declare that
Derek Anderson will start this weekend’s third and most important pre-season game. Once again,
Matt Leinart finds himself receiving a vote of no confidence from his coach. Leinart, Arizona’s 2006 number one draft pick, continues to disappoint. It seems likely that the number of chances remaining for Leinart to prove that he is an NFL quarterback are running out.
Asked what he hopes to see from the change, Whisenhunt replied, “first downs.”
UPDATE: An interview published in a Cardinals blog describes Leinart confused, frustrated, and believing that he has not been given sufficient opportunities to prove his value to the offense. It leaves me wondering if Leinart looked at the game film from the past few weeks. When your coach is just looking for first downs and not even points, you have struggled. Earth to Matty: “you are playing horribly.”
Just to confuse the coaches I predict Leinart’s going to have an amazing game against Chicago when he does eventually get on.
did Matty ever have the number 1 job? Matt Saracen from friday night lights would easily win that job lol, Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, CANT LOSE!
I think Jason Street in his wheelchair could probably win it at this point
Some Friday Night Lights refernces gotta love it! Awesome awesome show!
I really hoped that Matt could have made the most of the opportunities he has been given. He got to be backup to a great role-model (ie. Kurt Warner) but I guess none of his wisdom rubbed off. Also, kudos on the FNL references!!!
Wow. Just wow.
