Pittsburgh Steelers running backs Le’Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount were arrested following a traffic stop and will be charged with marijuana possession. A traffic officer from Ross Township pulled over a Camaro operated by Bell because there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. At which point a 20 gram bag of marijuana was found inside the car and according to police, Bell, Blount and a female passenger in the car with them all claimed ownership of the marijuana.
Steven’s Take:
This is certainly not good news for the Steelers and decided to hire a lawyer for DWI case filling. Pittsburgh wanted to get back to pounding the football and both Bell and Blount were going to be a huge part of that. To make matters worse, Bell will be charged with a DUI and will most likely face a suspension. Not sure if there is going to be any punishment for Blount, but the league has been hard on other players using recreational drugs.
The other six running backs currently on the Steelers roster have a combined zero rushing attempts in a regular season game. The Steelers will hope that rookie Dri Archer will be able to pick up the slack at the running back position. Otherwise, you may see the Steelers hit the open market and look for available veteran running backs.
