Steven and Jeff look at back at the 49ers huge victory in Week 5 as they steamroll the Buccaneers 48-3. The guys liked the 49ers to win by double digits, but by 45? No way. The 49ers defense was all over the Josh Freeman setup their offense nicely throughout the day. After Alex Smith was nominated with a nomination in FedEx Air Player of the week award, this week RB Frank Gore and his 125-yards and 1 TD got nominated as FedEx Ground Player of the week.
Sadly, the won had some bad news as WR Josh Morgan broke his leg in Sunday’s victory over Tampa Bay. Coach Harbaugh was unsure of his ability to return this season and the team has brought in TJ Housmedzadah along with 3 other wide outs for a workout.
The guys then preview the Week 6 match-up against the Lions. Jeff thinks the 49ers may not do good enough to beat the Lions, but Steven says he likes the 49ers chances to win the game if they can get the crowd out of it early and duplicate the success they have had in the running game. They just might have a change to upset the Lions and surprise everyone, including Jeff.
