(0-10) Two game lead in the suck for Luck! NICE!

I think these are brilliant, but what do I know?
Bill and Raiders have same record and the Bills beat them…
Redskins should be at 3-6, not 4-5. That aside, are the Ravens really that good to only move down one spot after an embarrassing loss to the Seahawks?
The Pats are two games behind the Steelers, right? Not sure the AFC is theirs for the taking. The AFC East, maybe.
I love the comments beside each teams entry, always gives me a good chuckle. On the other hand I do have an issue with the Powerful Rankings, sorry Jeff please don’t take me off the Christmas card list! Powerful Rankings they are but the Ravens did not display anything powerful against the Seahawks and yet are higher than the Steelers? Yeah I’m pulling the home dog card :P
Looks fine. I would move SF down below NE, NO, and PIT. Also, NYG and CHI would drop to bronze.
SF has had a pretty easy schedule and no wins vs what I consider to be a silver team. At the same time they seem to be for real. CHI and NYG are too streaky to be a top tier team and really lack depth in the weapons dept.
How can you believe that the Pats, Saints, and Steelers deserve to be higher than the 49er’s?
All three of those teams have lost 2 more games than the 49er’s. The Patriots lost to the Giants, which San Fransisco beat. The Saints have lost to both Tampa Bay and to the Rams (who destroyed the Saints in that game). And the Steelers, who handed the Pats one of there losses, has 2 losses to the Ravens who seem nothing but streaky loosing to the Seahawks and almost loosing to the cardinals.
All the teams are good but San Fransisco is just better. They only have one loss to the Cowboys and that was a game they could have won. They have won the games they should have and they have even won the games that everyone thought they should have lost. And they have played tough games, at Cincinnati, at Philadelphia, and at Detroit. Winning is not an easy thing to do, especially in the NFL. So being 8-1 is not something to look lowly upon. They deserve to be at the #2 spot.
I would move the falcons a bit higher and I would think that they are probably competing with lions for the sixth seed as the way the bears are playing they should get the fifth seed and will be pack only loss this season even though they are playing at lambeau. I am a Saints fan
I would say that AFC is no where near as good as NFC and so would not put NE, BAL, PIT as high as they are
I agree with most of your rankings, Jeff, butI think the Steeler should be placed above the Ravens.
If you want Steven to get off your case about not putting the Niners in the gold tier, just introduce “Jeff’s Gold Standard” – or call it the “Ellis Corollary”:
“A team cannot obtain gold status, if their QB is owned in less than 75% of fantasy football leagues”
Currently, the 49ers’ Alex Smith is owned in about 20% of ESPN leagues – thats less than Donovan McNabb (23%), Kevin Kolb (46%) and on par with Colt McCoy. I know that this is not a great way to determine a good team, but I also know that “Franchise QB” is your thing.
Keep up the good work!
Great rankings! How can everybody put the Steelers ahead of the Ravens when the Ravens beat them TWICE this year, by a total score of 58 to 27??? The Steelers have some work to do to catch up!
The beauty of these rankings: they are Jeff’s.
If I disagree with them, all I would have to do, is to create my own list, but I’m too lazy (or don’t have the time) to make them.
Question to Jeff: do you let your rankings for the next week be influenced by the comments made here?
Jeff, I would have to agree that Steven is right. The 49er’s are a gold level team. They should be #2 because of there record. But they should be gold because they are closer in record to the packers (a single loss) than any other team in the silver are as close to them (2 loss difference).
But other than that, I think that the rankings are good!
I’m thinking that the Eagles appear to be too high, then I look at the teams below them. The quality of the bottom third is pretty yuck …
Can’t disagree with most of this list, with the exception of the Patriots. With their defense playing as poorly as they have been this season, I don’t see them beating any of the other silver teams (with losses to both the Steelers and the Giants so far to prove my point).
