The guys get you ready for a great schedule of games for Week 10, with five Games of the Week and El Juego Grande Estupendo de la Semana matching up a 7-1 vs 6-2 teams when the Giants visit the 49ers. In the news, the guys discuss the Patriots releasing Albert Haynesworth and the Buccaneers claiming him off of waivers. Steven does not like the move, but he feels with the Bucs injuries on defense, it was most likely the right move.
Steven and Jeff only disagree on four games this week, even though there are 16 games on the non-bye week schedule. Jeff is taking four road teams (Saints, Titans, Rams, Jaguars) while Steven things the home teams in those games will take care of business, (Falcons, Panthers, Browns, Colts). Interestingly, the guys agree on the Bears beating the Lions and Jets beating the Patriots.
Finally, with Jeff holding a commanding five game lead in the Challenge Game, Steven locks in the Browns to beat the Rams at home as this week’s challenge game.
I’ll comment on the website when Jeff gets his Bengal and Bills tatoos!
I wasn’t going to say anything, but since you made a plea for comments…here goes.
Jeff – Thurman Munson was one of the most famous YANKEE captains of all time. When he was named as Yankee captain, no one had held that honor since Lou Gehrig.
Also, it would take over 7 hours to bus from New Orleans to Atlanta (and that would be non stop), so it’s a good bet the Saints will charter a plane to Atlanta this weekend.
Just for laughs, there are 5 NFL teams closer to Atlanta than the Saints. Charlotte is the closest at 244 miles with Nashville a close second at 249 miles. Jacksonville is 346 miles but they’ll be much further once they move to L.A. :-)
The last 3 (including New Orleans) are almost equidistant from Atlanta, but from three different directions. New Orleans being the farthest at 468 miles and to the southwest, while Cincinnati is only a mile closer coming from the north. Tampa is 457 miles away to the south.
Now, I’ll readily admit that I used mapquest to verify these distances, but I selected the teams to check for proximity without use of a map. Those were my 5 guesses as to which teams would most likely be closest to Atlanta.
Yes, I’m a geography nerd…or at least US geography.
The fact that Steven & Jeff both picked the jets this week somehow makes me think maybe just maybe the Patriots might win!
Cant say anymore because I need to go and drink more of my Kool-aid!
jeff,
the aclu has no such law suit… please, stick to football!!
There actually is a complaint, but the ACLU is not bringing it, or involved (at least not yet). A professor at GWU has filed it on behalf of Muslim students at Catholic U. (both schools are in DC). This same professor filed a complaint when Catholic announced they were implementing single sex dorms starting this fall.
Suh isn’t the dirtiest player in the game today… how in the world that in less than 2 seasons Ndamakong has surpassed James Harrison, the same guy that has publicly said that he wouldn’t help out the commissioner and who doesn’t care that he gives helmet to helmet hits. C’mon man.

So Patriots dropped Hayesworth. Any thoughts on Ocho? I hope they give him time, btu he needs to start having some role in games.
Does Steven still want the stakes of the challenge loser humiliation to be raised? 2-8, Steven? And, you are so desperate you pick a team without a running back. I’m starting to feel bad for you.
So, I guess Philli fans will be watching the NHL instead of the NFL from now on.
And has the NFC Worst suddenly become the NFC’s best? They all won this week.
Loving the show still guys keep it up.
