Live again from the Pennyhill Park Hotel & Spa in Bagshot, Surrey from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice facility. In today’s FIX, the guys talk about all the new QBs starting on Sunday. Palmer, Ponder, Tebow, and Beck. No this is not a 70’s art rock band, but rather four new QBs under center for week 7. Unprecedented.
Lovie Smith defends his teams decision to come over late and the guys are not having any of it. It is simply too much to ask anyone to come this far and perform at a high level. The trade announced yesterday between the Eagles and Lions is off due to the discovery of a brain tumor in Lions running back Jerome Harrison
Wonderful stuff from Bucs practice including some video interviews with players and other tremendous atmosphere from this spectacularly scenic location. The guys change the location from the side of the stunning swimming pool and show the spectacular spa instead.
Nice show (loving Jeff’s scarf ensembles!), but not exactly as described in Steven’s notes above? There are some sports scientists who would say that the Bears are doing it right – stay on your own timezone and don’t bother trying to acclimatise (or, indeed, acclimate). I wonder if the Bucs would have done the same if they weren’t the “home” team and presumably have marketing obligations – perhaps you could ask?
Do not kick to Devin Hester!!!!!
Mad props to you guys for delivering the content while traveling! Not an easy thing to do!
Having traveled a lot internationally, I’d say that while you can try whatever tricks you can imagine to fool your body clock, if you’re awake an unnaturally long time, or you don’t sleep well on the flight, and then the sun goes down where you are, you are in trouble no matter what time it happens to be back in your home country. On one trip, second night in Paris, I very nearly fell asleep in my soup at dinner. And If I’m not mistaken, the sun will set around game time. The Bears may well be hibernating by then.
