Panthers' defensive tackle Damione Lewis will be out until July, at the earliest, possibly coming back by training camp, according to carolinagrowl.com. Lewis, after injuring his shoulder during the regular season, underwent rotator cuff surgery on that shoulder. This means that Lewis, 31, will miss all of the pre-season activities prior to training camp.
Lewis is coming off his first season as a full-time starter after taking over for Kris Jenkins. He played pretty well alongside Julius Peppers, racking up forty-six tackles and four sacks. Therefore, Carolina will want to see him healthy at the beginning of the regular season, especially if Peppers leaves the team via free agency or trade.
