A quick @theashes update (her name is Ashley, that’s where the nickname started, not whatever thought Jeff had in his head!!) – she now has over 9,000 followers, Vodafone (who sponsor the series) have offered her tickets to the games and a phone to tweet from in Australia, she has been on the radio in the UK and she will be joining the BBC commentary team by phone during the coverage of the second match starting tomorrow. She is selling T-shirts with her classic catchphrase, “I am NOT a freaking cricket match”, so hopefully she’s earning a few bob out of it all. And I’m sure she speaks for much of America when she tweets, “Bed soon, but I was just sent the 1st test result… how is it a draw if Australia gets 588 & England gets 777?? ” Brilliant stuff!
