And I am pretty sure they don’t like you either, Tom.
Tom Brady was on the Dennis & Callahan show Monday morning and was asked if he watches Hard Knocks on HBO. Brady replied,
Honestly, I haven’t turned it on. I hate the Jets, so I refuse to support that show. … I’m sure it’s great TV. I’m glad people are liking it. But that’s just something that I have no interest in watching. I’d love to say a lot of mean things, but I’d rather not do that, either.”
You can listen to the entire interview here.
Has Brady gone off the reservation?
Usually the Patriots, head coach Bill Belichick, and all of his players are extremely quiet and vague when talking about opponents. Belichick usually has the clamps down tight on his team when it comes to making comments. He wants other teams to provide bulletin board material for the Patriots, not the other way around. Even though Brady goes on to say he would rather not say a log of mean things, saying you hate the Jets is pretty mean. The Jets host the Patriots week two in the New Meadowlands Stadium. I can just see it now posted up in the Jets locker room, a picture of Tom Brady with a bulldeye on his chest with the words “I HATE THE JETS” next to him. I guarantee you Jets head coach Rex Ryan is going to let his defense know exactly what Tom Brady said.
There are two games you should circle on your calendar. Patriots at Jets on Sunday September 19th and Jets at Patriots on Monday Night Football, December 6th. You can’t miss those two games.
cant wait for Week 2, when he has the Jets D coming for him, Harris and Ellis and Big Jenkins coming at him!
The way these type of things usually work out, Brady’s probably going to be the Jets backup QB in a couple of years time.
^^That guy just made me laugh over the internet. That’s the first time anybody’s ever done that. He’s good.
The Patriots have been the best team in the AFC east for sometime now, they are the team to beat. Tom Brady is one the elite QBs in the league. The Jets have all summer and now every day said they are going to win the Superbowl. If they need bulletin board material to win they ain’t going to the Superbowl. Maybe they should just try to beat the Patriots cause they are the Patriots and they have always been a better team, like them or not Hate them or not. Beat them cause that is what you are paid to do. Leave the Bulletin Board for what time your lunch is!! GO BILLS
Brady will regret saying that, Rex might sit on him in retribution. Or the Jets defense will just pummel him to a pulp.
I hope his O line hates the Jets just as much as he does. He might be in trouble otherwise. I don’t think Eli Manning hates the Jets, but he left the field bleeding in a pre-season game.
It’s nice to see passion in the NFL, but a franchise QB like Tom Brady needs to be a little more classy than that. Follow the Peyton Manning example and use humour.
I dunno, with these two teams I really doubt any words uttered by anybody could boost the antagonism–because it’s already at the max to begin with.
That was me above, just registered.
I forgot to make my other point. I also think the whole bulletin board issue is tiresome and overblown. It’s just confirmation bias at work: The talking heads report on, and we tend to remember, the incidents where the dissed team came out and dismantled the trash-talking opponent. We don’t hear about and don’t recall the probably equal number of incidents where incendiary bulletin board material failed to motivate a win.
ok what is worse, saying you hate the jets, or saying that you will win the superbowl?
Anyone else think that this might be Tom Brady feelin the heat that actually the patriots may not be the best team in this division this year or maybe he just isn’t happy with all the attention been on the jets and not on him and this is kinda like a kid screaming look at me.. In short I would like to see More class from one of the best QB in the NFL and a certain hall of famer.
