Will Springs play?

Redskins’ cornerback Shaun Springs hasn’t practiced this week because of a calf injury. However, he could play tomorrow against the Eagles, according to the Washington Post.

Springs injured the calf last week against Dallas.

Coach Jim Zorn said this:

“Shawn Springs, to me, is still a question mark,” Zorn said. “I just want to see what happens on Sunday for him. He would be one guy I would definitely play without the reps.”

As he should. Springs is a difference-maker on defense, one who can make a loss into a win. With how the Eagles like to open up the passing game, Washington’s secondary will need to step up, and getting Springs back will greatly help that, despite the missed practice time.

We’ll see tomorrow if he plays; my prediction might change if he does.
